In order to obtain a license, the candidate must: Be a citizen of the United States. Be at least 18 years of age. Not have a record as a defaulter in payment of money. Not have had a previously awarded collection agent license suspended or revoked. Pay all application fees. Provide a corporate surety bond for each collections office in operation, at the Division's discretion. Licenses must be renewed every two years.
